What is this?

In the picture below? It's just behind my passenger side rear spring.
The metal bar that goes down to the bottom of the picture.
I only ask because it seems like its bent or something?

Oh I would never of guessed that. Does it look alright from the picture?
How do these work then?

just give it a squirt with WD40 and make sure it moves ok
