what oil cooler ?



  Mreg 1.8 16v naples red
im starting to get my car - tracked up - and im after an oil cooler. whats the best thing to go for ? air -to- oil, or water -to- oil ( laminova style )

not noing to much id have to guess but its logic in away air to oil id say as less to go wrong as i said thats my opinion id speak to k-tec mate they will no best

would i need to get a more powerfull rad fan in that case as there will be more heat going through the coolant. do u know where i can buy a laminova ? as the site i got off a magazine never sent me a price list :(

on past cars i ran a mocal 13 row air to oil cooler with built in thermostat in the sandwich plate, total cost for the full kit about 150 quid.

if your doing a few track days buy a temp feed as well and a guage.

valver already has a temp sensor built in, for value for money air to oil will be the best, i see drops of 10 - 20 deg c with mine.

I have one fitted to a mk2, its fitted under the front cross member, i belive it can be fitted in a similar place in the mk1.

Just call merlin motorsport and ask for a price for a mk1 clio oil cooler kit, you can also try rally design they are usually cheaper

izibizi ? what are u on about. if your not going to help SHUT UP ? i do need one. if i hammer my car for 45 mins it runs over 110*c. so yeh i need one. cheers jon :)

i can e-mail you a fitting guide and install pics but im afraid they are for my old pug 106 gti, in principal the same i guess.

hi mate just sent them to you, i didnt attach a subject to the first e-mail thats the written guide, the pics have been sent on a seperate e-mail and been labelled accordingly.

pretty easy to do and didnt need any ramps/stands.
