10-40 is fine so is 5-40 so is 0-40 the lower the first number the better is is in the cold 10 weight is fine down to -25 people on here ofnte go a bit excesive on exact spoec but don't serve the cars enough IMO.

Used silkolene in the past but see no justification in paying the extra for it as i only use the car for everyday use and quarter miles.

Mobil 1 0w - 40 does more than a perfect job and i get it cheap with my Halfords trade card

your wasting your money on silkolene, not that it is s**t, but any other decent oil at half the price will do just a good job on your 2.0 16v
