you can replace the alternator with a wheel and a hampster - will save a bit of weight

renew the things that might be getting warm ie lower arm bushes etc,makes a car much nicer to drive

Replace the drivers seat with a Cobra suzuka and 3 point harness and get a 320mm steering wheel. You pretty much sit on the floor so driving position is much lower and you are locked in by the side bolsters so you dont move around at all when cornering. The smaller wheel also makes the car feel more responsive.

Best way to spend your £500 IMO.

I got a suzuka, harness, steel sidemounts, and subframe for about £420. That was a special price but try Cobra direct or Yozzasport see if you can get the retail price down a bit.
