what service is due on my 172?

hi there everyone hope you are all ok just wondered what type of service is due on my car?

i bought the car in january this year with 47400 on the clock now on 56500 which not alot for a year of driving but the 12,000 miles interval probably wont be up until maybe march next year??? can i wait till then without anyproblems or should i have it serviced in january for annual check???

anyway my car is over 5 years old now and has full service history..i realise the cambelt needs changing etc etc but what about the basic service what should happen and a service or b???

cheers everyone whol can help if i dont manage to sell my car and keep her i am going to buy all the parts and get it done on the cheap at a good local garage

Gte the 60k service done.
The 12k service rules were just what Renault Uk set they arn't the optimum idealy you want the oil chnaged and filters ever 3k or so air filterss ever 6 but the price is rediculious for the minimal gains.

5 years old get the cambelt done though

Onloy get a garge to do the cambelt if they have the right tools otherwsie the'll make a mess of it regardless of what they think.

cheers for that mate so apart from the belts it is a standard a service with oil and filter change (i have a brand new itg panel fitted so that has saved a bit) change the pollen filter? no need to change spark plugs until 72k no need to change fuel filter etc? no my car is five years does my coolant system need changing? how do you know if this needs changing mine was checked in january this year and could go to -21 (checked by rac) renault do this for 39.99 can it be done cheaper? also when does the climate control need re gasing dont know if this has ever been done? is this once every couple of year thing? cheers for your help mate again

Cambelt needs doing at 5yrs regardless of milage....it can perish/crack with age and snap so I'd get that done a.s.a.p

cheers mate for that i know it is stupid but i just cant afford it but it would be worse if the bloody thing broke and the engine was destroyed!!!!! catch 22!!!

Chnage the filter yep
Might as ell check the plugs they atre often fine for 72k
-21 is fine though I'm guessing its been changed (should be done at 4years) as it goes off I'd be suprised if the original is that good after 5 years.

oh also noticed when my climate is on max for the windows and i am outside the car the engine sounds very tapitty is this cos of the climate air con being on and also when the aircon is on there is a very very loud click noise when its turned on outside the car??? is something abut to go or does it just need servicing??? cheers

You can buy a tester from any motorplace Halfords etc.

Climate system can sometime need a refill the gas leaks out.

The polen filter nder the scuttle panel on the drivers side needs changing ever 12k/2 years but check what yours is like there £12 or so new.

Probably, the air con is pulling a load of power from the system but if the oils dirsty can effect this.

The click probalty just noisy relays and the pump kicking in.
