What should I do?

Right wanting some honest opinions here! I've just bought myself a 182 Cup with 12k on it. 54 Reg in mint condition. Got a good deal at £7800 for it but I can't help thinking should I sell it on and get myself a 182 FF? Or should I just be thankful for getting a good car for that price and stop being greedy!?

I'd keep it. Sure the FF (which I have) has a few nicer features but it's still basically the same car.

Yeah I think I'll love it more once I've done to it what I want. It's just I won't lose on it if I sell it now.

you got it for a good price so would have no probs selling it to get a ff i used to love cups but the only cup worth having is the 172 cup as it feels so much more fun. keep urs for a bit as you have only just got it but ff features make the car feel so much nicer to be in

Keep it. Its not worth the hassle of changing for basically the same car but with slightly better spec (all things being equal like insurance etc)

no its not its not numbered when they made the 172 cup (also not numbered) they took most of the extras off like abs traction which makes it feel old school fun but when they started to make 182s they then bought out the cup model which just seams like a cheap feel 182 its lost the fun factor of the 172 cup. all the bits that made the cup nice like the spoilers and springs you can get on a ff if you get one with cup packs

So I've got the poor mans 182 then lol What sort of money are we talking for a FF then? And when you say FF - did it come like that or has somone actually moddified it to have the cup packs on it? I've seen one on here in the for sale section but I'm presuming that's really cheap for what it is? I've been trying to do a search but there's so much info on here I don't know where to start!

OK... three types of 182
1) Full Fat (FF) - Normal Suspension, Climate control and Zenons
2) Cup - Cup suspension & Spoiler, Air Con and Normal Lights
3) Cupped Full Fat - Cup suspension & Spoiler, Climate control and Zenons

So basically your only missing electronic climate control and slightly brighter lights. But your car is slightly lighter so slightly faster. Not worth changing it for slightly brighter lights and slightly better air con IMHO...

Ah thanks for that - all cleared up now. Even having aircon is a luxury to me as my 106 GTi never had anything like that so I'm sure I can settle for not having the different lights. I think I should just be thankful for what I've got! Thanks for the help everyone....

Enjoy the car. If you do want brighter headlights I'm sure you can just buy some silvatecs or something... But you won't need them... As for climate, I have mine set at max now cos it's cold so I'm assuming you just have to whack your heater to the top notch to get exactly the same effect.

Leather seats are ok the GTi had them but they didn't wear very well from all the getting in and out on the drivers side. I only put seat covers over them anyway lol

i have always had cups and will never rip a 172 cup as they are great

not so sure on the 182 cup i had one and my mates got one

now i am getting older cupped ff is the only way

If you like it & it aint got no problems, keep it.

You may buy a full fat & end up with a crap one

There is hardly any difference, keep the cup & get a set of misanos.

Yeah that's a good point at least I know what I've bought with this car - This one has had one owner has been looked after like a baby has about 10k under the average mileage, no stone chips etc. I think I'm just being fussy!!

Me and the Girlfriend both have 182 cups and love them
Full fats are class aswell Rich's one is great inside with c+c etc
I do miss the little things like the proper steering wheel

i have had 2x clio 16v
2 x 172 cups
1 182 cup
1 ff 182

there all good cars. for fun the 172 cup is far far the best

ff is good for the pimp stuff

ps 172 cups are such a better color than inferno and racing blue

wish they did 182s in modial blue but i got an artic so not far off
