what sort of damage can occur with this cold weather!!

When i got into my car this morning it was -13!! The car was frozen from the inside and iv never felt it so cold. It took a good 5 mile of slow driving to warm the engine up. I was just wondering if this extreme cold weather can damage me engine in any way??
Would be grateful for anyone's thoughts?

Na it will be fine providing you let the engine get up to fully working temperature before you labour it, and long as you have good antifreeze in the cooling system.

I was kinda worried about the oil not giving it much protection. Im going to double check the antifreeze tomorrow too. Also changing gear is slightly harder in this cold too but maybe its just me

As cold as it is here, there is plenty of other places far far colder, their cars are fine.

if ur coolant is up to scratch then u will be fine.
