A new exhaust will make your engine perform more efficiently.
A new air filter may lean your mixture slightly so your car will try and put more fuel in depending.
Apparently a new exhaust will actually increase fuel economy in some cases. Its only always the other way because people rev it to hear their beasty exhaust

true but with induction you need to rev it alot to hear it,but exhaust u here mostly all the time,i had a 1.1 106 with pipercross IK and a full catback powerflow exhaust,it did add more of a kick but i was puttin in 10 pound every night for like 15 delivery's within 2 mile radious,it basicly drank it,so with a powerlow catback and no induction kit with normal driving it shudent be affected?

friend of mine had a full exhaust on a scooby fuel was not affected.
