I posted a thread before xmas asking if anyone knew what this seat clip was called that is attached to my seat runners but had no luck

http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=265393

So i though i'd pick peoples brains again :)

Heres pictures of the offending clip (the pics are of the clip from both seats)

As yet again it popped out the runner this weekend and my seat wouldn't click into place :(

So anyone any ideas ?

As i think i need a new one as this one looks pretty fucked as one of the black clip bits on the side of it has broke off :(

  Clio MK2 (1.2)
think when the seat gets moved and you want it to stay there that locks into place, noticed it when cleanin th car othr day..

  BMW M135i
I've just had mine drop out and now the seat is jammed in the forward position. Fished some more broken pieces of plastic out of the runners too. Mine used to not click into place some times.

I'm changing the runners tomorrow as mine are totally fucked now, you won't get the bits seperately so if they still work properly just leave well alone.

Onlt the french would design a car that you need to replace the whole seat runners if a clip breaks :( :(

It still works kinda but leaves me in lurch sometimes :(

And would be good to see if it can be fixed without runners :)

Well the runners come as a sealed unit and you can't really play with them tbh, it'd be the same with all manufacturers really. I changed mine this morning and its all sorted now, no drama and straightforward enough. £15 for a set from cliospares.

How did you remove the seat from the runners and the runners from the car ?

  Megane 230 R26
My Trophy's just done this... and now it's f**king stuck outside my mate's house, with the seat SO close to the wheel I can't drive it :S

Basically that little crappy muck-metal French excuse for a clip has broken in half, and the front half is well inside the seat runners towards the front, where I can't get at it despite trying with a long thin flat-bladed screwdriver

After some attempts by myself and MarcC to recover it, it started to rain all over my interior and seat, and I lost my rag and phoned Renault Assistance, who are going to be 60-90 minutes.

I guess this is probably a common fault as the runners are standard, and hopefully the AA bloke will be able to fix it? :dapprove:

Its easy peasy, I only had to change the outside runner because that was the one that had broken and jammed. Take the two plastic covers off the side of the seat and theres 5 nuts holding the seat frame to the runners, 2 on one side 3 on the other. Remove these and making sure you've got enough slack on the airbag wiring you can tilt the seat back to easily see the runners. Then its just a matter of removing the adjuster bar and undoing the 2 nuts under the car that hold the runner to the chassis.

I doubt it very much, I had a play around with my old one once it was out and got nowhere it would be even more impossible with the runner in and the seat on top as I tried that intially too.

It'll be new runner time I imagine, you still got warrenty being a trophy? Let renault sort it, otherwise cliospares sell runners for 15 sheets a side.

Ok cheers, i've just been thinking i still have a warranty on my car.

Do you think they will replace my runners ?

Or will i ave to wait until my seats totally fucked and not clicking back in place before they do ?

If it still works I doubt they'll replace it. As I said before it if still works then leave it alone until it doesn't, not broke don't fix.

And it had the seat clips on the runners so i ripped of the side covers on the seats and pinched them, and i got them for nothing (the scrapyard owner wanted nowt for them) :)
