as above really,
first i just thought id do 3 3 belts and new filters/plugs etc. now im thinking should we re-build the engine. and what is to be gained from it?
its not been looked after at all! maybe im just being to eager to throw away my cash. tbh i need someone with valver experience to give me a comparison
id more be looking at changing the worn out suspension parts, my 172 is on 40k/5yr old and i changed both bottom arms (with new bushes) both trackrod ends, 4 dampers (i got 172 cup items while i was at it) and eibach springs and what a difference it made! the car felt brand new, the little bit of play in the steering has gone and the handling was improved massively (obviously i used better springs so this would have been the main reason)
agreed, my first valver had done 167k when i sold it and i gave it death everywhere and it was chipped so it revved to 7700rpm lol, give it a good service, and as long as the oil pressure guage shows signs of life then i wouldnt worry mate lol
coolio yup got all new bushes for it and ball joints/suspemsion quite alot lol. i guess i just like the mk1's plan to keep it then get something new for her come august when we get married
