What tools would I need for change all belts and water pump?

Car  Clio III 1.2 16v 06
Don't think my cars had anything changed on it belt wise as of yet and I've done 50k+, thinking of giving it a blast myself how easy/ not easy would it be to follow a guide doing such thing?

Do a search mate, been covered loads of times.

Basically though by the time you buy the proper renault tools, doing it as a one off doesnt really make much sense as it'll cost you as much as just going to a specialist anyway.

Its one of the more difficult cars to do a cambelt on really, access is limited, and without the genuine tools its difficult to time the cams in properly and if you time them slightly out you'll lose performance.

If you havent got experience of doing cambelts in some ways its probably not the ideal car to be starting on.

His car is a 1.2. All you need is a good set of spanners, sockets etc and mechanical knowledge.

Ah, thanks for the correction, I made the schoolboy error of thinking it would be a clio sport!

Yes, different altogether then :)

water pump is the most awkward bit due to where it routes through behind the alternator.

pretty straightforward really, but still regularly cocked up as no-one sets the tensioner right

I think I'll give it a go myself, I have socket sets, spanners trolley jack and stands, will buy those TDC pins aswell, anything else I could need? Don't mind spending on something that will pay for itself

You also need a 2kg lump hammer incase it goes wrong;)

I'll just say a mechanic friend did it/ guided it through with me, which I will probably do anyway as I have a friend who is a mechanic but deals with the VAG group
