What type of oil for 172 top up

Can anyone tell me what type of oil i should use to top up my 172..2500miles...oil blobs down to 3..any help would be appreciated

An ACEA certified mineral oil of 10w40, 5w40, 5w50, 15w40, 15w50 etc etc

Mobil 1 or castrol RSR 0w40 oil is best!

Hes only got 2500 miles on the clock, synth would see it......nevermind, just use mineral.

i use halfords 5w40 in mine mate.

handbook says use 5w40 so cant go wrong with that lol...

I need to to top up my oil too.

Im sitting with 33k miles on the Clock...

What do you recommend. synth, semi-synth or mineral?

At my first service the dealer warned me not to top up the oil by myself...they talking rubbish or not...

I used Carlube semi 10w40 this week about 1/2 litre will this be ok mixed with the current renault oil not sure what they use.
