I need some new tyres and am currently thinking about changing all four corners from the conti sports. But what tyres should I go for. I do about 16-17000 miles a year so want somthing that lasts but I also want good road holding.
Correct, for the mk2 172 it is 195/45/16 and make sure you get a speed rated tyre higher than you will ever do in you clio .. 149mph would be about rightQuote: Originally posted by Steve on 04 February 2003

205 is the width of the tyre in mm soQuote: Originally posted by Paul Freemantle on 04 February 2003
Tom what does the 205 bit mean - not clued up on this
The second figure is not the physical height of the tyre between rim and road but it is actually a percentage of the width. ie. in the above 45% of 195mm = 88mmQuote: Originally posted by _KDF on 04 February 2003

195 / 45 / 16 = with in mm / height in mm / size in inches
