The repairs needed to the clio are a new door and the trailing edges of the wings and bonnet need spraying.

If the claim goes 50/50 Ill lose 2yrs (35-40%) NCB and have to fork out a £150 excess.

I know I can get a door for £40 and then just get the door and what have you sprayed.

So would you try and fight to get it all on their policy or would you just sod it off and get it done without claiming?

youve reported it tho now Mike, id have a look at where you currently stand, ie can you say to the insurance ill sort it out myself, otherwise id go for blaming the other person as it was their fault in the 1st place.

I can pull out of the claim yes. What I have thought is whether I should ring the bloke and agree to split the cost, without claiming.

One place has just quoted £373.45 and thats for a brand new door.

I bet you can find a goodn for £40 from a scrappies, then get it all sprayed up for £200-300.

Insurance companies are sh!t** and youll probably get f00ked about no end, id sort it out my self if i were you.

Still a possibility. Only thing is the other guy is definitely getting his done through the insurance so I might be as well off just doing that myself.
