whats a good processing speed for a laptop?

as title please guys, what should you be looking for in a laptop for a good processing speed?

For core2duo's pretty much read the processing speed as x2, so if it says 1.6ghz, read 3.2ghz...now that's not technically correct, but it acts as a rough comparison between dual and single core processors.

Technically, this spec looks better for the price bracket, there's a voucher that drobs it to ~£680

my gfs processor is c2d(1.6ghz) aint the fastest but very comfortably runs vista etc

i have the intel core 2 duo t7300 at 2.0ghz and it runs vista premium and other applications very well.

always wanted to know that!! my sony is a single core and is 2.4ghz and wanted to start looking into something to compare it to!
