Whats the bar thing in the boot for ?

I just noticed i have a metal bar thing in the boot behind back seats with metal hooks/eyelets for tying stuff too.

Its covered by a plastic cover/casing.

Is it worth leaving it in car ?

Or would it be a worth removing it ?

Isofix bar, used for securing baby seats i believe.

May aswell take it out, weighs a fair bit!

no you definetly DO NOT want to be taking that out unless you dont want the rear seats, that it the main support for the seats. its defintly worth taking your back seats and panels out for a try though, great fun. lol

you'll notice thse eyes all over the car, one down at your feet on the door sill behind a flap then more under the front seats from the back, the one on that then theres some at the back of the boot too, i think they are left overs form the van or some thing, i cant imagine what you'd need all those tie downs for.

Ok Cheers, if it holds in rear seats it'll be staying in :)

It doesn't, its just a bar to mount the isofix points on as said. The seat lowers just clip in and sit flat, and the backs bolt in a completly different spot.

You can remove it if you wish.

That is completly wrong!!!!

As said it for isofix child seats and for the boot net that you can get. Does nothing else other than weigh a fair few kilos

It's heavy and stops a nice flat surface when rear seats are down...... Mines coming out 2night now ;). I always thought there was summit more to it than that.
