I had a Yaris 1.2 while I was waiting for my Clio. That used to do the same if you coasted down a hill in gear.

Ive done that as well in a courtesy car. I worked out I was going about 120~130 even though it didnt show it.

Best Ive pushed mine to is 78mpg driving slowly and carefully to and from work.

i have seen 108mpg out of my little beauty but its not a DCI.
