whats the best remap for 1.6 16v?

im looking at buying a 2004 clio either a 1.4 or 1.6? what sort of bhp could i get out of a 1.4 or 1.6 without spending silly money?

Sorry to dissappoint but it really isnt worth tuning these engines. Buy one and save the tuning money towards a 172

The 1.6 is fairly nippy as standard but I wouldn't bother with remapping it and judging by what you've said you don't look like you are going to pile loads into it so the cost of remapping would be better spent elsewhere.
