What's the difference between Enamel paint and normal spray paint?

  220 Trophy
I’m going to have a go at spraying a 2nd set of track wheels myself, they don’t have to be perfect but knowing me I’ll try and get them as close as possible. I used some white Enamel spray paint the other day from Halfords repairing a scratch on our backdoor external hinge and the finish looked a lot thicker, tougher and smoother than if I’d used normal spray paint. Does anyone know what the real difference is between Enamel spray paint and normal ‘car’ paint? Any reason why I wouldn’t want to use it rather than normal ‘car’ paint on my wheels? Does it need any different preparation/primer/finishing? Thanks.

Just like you said really enamel is a much thicker paint and will be very orange pealey (not heat treated)
Car paint is more detailing in it can be very smooth and but weak.
You can get alloy wheel paint, more specific.
