What's the yellow block?

As per the title. On the back of the headunit, I'm assuming it is the connections for the display?!

Do I just leave it unplugged?

TIA.

Either stalk or display as you say. Unless you have the adapater leads nothing you can do with it when you go aftermarket.

Taken the old headunit out, put my Pioneer unit in, leaving the yellow connector unplugged. Tried to hunt down a iso/din adapter but Halfords wanted £4.29 for one. Sod that, so no radio for a while (Maplins had run out!).

The Pioneer, even with the standard speakers sounds so much better. You can crank up the volume and get no distortion. I'll give it a while and then decide if I can be bothered to put the JL speakers in or not.
