I ve had good results with AG 'Clean wheels' its nasty stuff though and I tend to wear those latex gloves when using it.

Halfords?
Daniel, Wonder Wheels has that *cringe* effect about it... its got a bad reputation of being a paint stripper hasn't it?
It is a concentrated wheel cleaner which requires diluting dpending on the task to hand. It can be cut as far as 10:1 on delecate alloys, with a normal dilution ratio of 4:1 for general purpose use. On especially bad or burnt on deposits it can be used at 2:1 or even 1:1.
Tardis will probably remove it. if it doesnt.
Meguirs Wheel Brightener will. Apply, leave for 30 secs. Wash thoroughly.

Apply Taris neat!
white spirit!!??
no thanks!
cause i seal them afterwards!
Does tardis dissolve brake dust then ?
cause i seal them afterwards!
For a man that seals the bottom of his car I would expect nothing less!
Isn't white spirit similar to thinners though, which bodyshops use to remove paint from cars? Could be wrong but I would be careful Paul!
^ very well said. N I thought you were a crazy drug addict!!!!
Yeah I agree Paul some people just buy things because they are expensive and assume they are good, I will happilly buy cheap if I can if the results are good, but just not really ever really needed to use white spirits, use clay/ wheel acid on wheels if they are bad, or glue and tar remover for...glue and tar! But thinking about it, that smells kind of like white spirit too so probably a fairly similar kind of distilate in there?
