Wheel Upgrade, Size Question.

Alright there lads,

Got a 1.4 (01) that has 15" alloys as standard (185, 55, 15), just acquired a set of 172 alloys (195, 45, 16) and want to put them onto the car direct.

QUESTION - I have no idea what on earth the numbers mean apart from the last one (size) so would like to be enlightened please, the other question is would they go straight on without problems? I was informed they would.

Thanks lads.

as a guide (depending on who does it) were talking £20 - £30 a corner mate, so somewhere between say £80 and £120. I got quoted £80 at back street garage, but Reno dealer wanted £120!!
