Wheels rubbing, can anything be done?

  S4 Avant
As said, hard cornering and any sort of bump is making my front wheels rub on the top of the arch lining. Bit alarming when your hammering down a country lane and all you can here is scraping every other 10 metres.

Wheels are 17"s and not sure of the drop on it, must be about 40mm. Is there something I can do to bodge it and stop the wheels rubbing? or is it going to be smaller wheels/new springs?

Cheers

I've actually got 15's on my 182 and lowered it on gaz coilovers...quite a lot it would seem. Found it was rubbing on the front of the arch liners -there is a bit that sticks out towards the wheel - I just cut that out, and ground out a small lip of metal behind it, then filed and re-painted it. Sorted.
