when accelerating car pulls to the right

Car  clio 172
Only had the car two days!!! only noticed it today that even at slow accelerarion the car pulls to the right quite hard, at hard acceleration it pulls very hard to the right. When coasting along the car seems to hold centre line though. The guy i brought it of had two new tryes put on the drivers side. What could it be !!!!

I think you answered your own question.....tyres.
You should always fit new tyres in pairs on the same axle IE front or rear, not right or left.

Would be steering the wrong way I think as the shorter driveshaft is on the passenger side obviously. Thought car torque steering due to unequal length driveshafts? And towards the shortest one?

If i'm the wrong way round then its just torque steer.

Swap the right rear wheel onto the left front side and see if things improve........

no its a black 172 03 plate did yours pull hard to the right

Yeah it did but it had been put into a kerb by the previous owner!

Check the springs havent snapped and also that the wishbone is ok, mine looked fine to the naked eye but the tyre was clearly not sitting right, new one helped a bit.

My lil 1.2 mk1 does the same and it has balanced wheels and tracking is fine think its just the torque steer cause mine does it when the engine is put under load
hope this helps

Torque steer in a 1.2?

Doesn't the torques steer in the 172/182s pull you to the left?

John, those are good shouts. Could be a number of things out of allignment.

Hope it's not a warped subframe or suspension damage.

had the two new tryes put on the front and rebalanced and traking done, still pulls to the right the bushes looked ok !!! could it be four wheel linement or steering rack problems the rest of the car is great just starting to bugg me now

my 182 pulls to the left due to torque steer. You dont get torque steer at low speed though so id check your subframe. Could also be your power steering pump?

It won't be torque steer if it happens when going slow, as Brian says it'll be the tyres I'd have thought :)

first things first - it could be...
check tyre pressures - inflate to proper psi
swap wheels
balance wheels
tracking

if none of the above work, then start thinking about subframes etc...
