when should i get new brake pads?



  MK2 PH2 & E46 330
theres about a fingers width left on the ones i have currently. and they squeak like hell.

should i just get them changed or get them copper greased?

whell do u get a slight vibration when braking , are the spongy if so get new ones mate
 
before spending any money, it's worth taking them out and (copper) greasing the backs to see if that helps - ?

don't know, but are they fitted with anti-squeak shims? maybe try a new set if they are

a finger's width suggests there's plenty of meat left on them

There a cut down the center of the pads they should be changed when the cut mark is no longer visiable. Few people do though
