when to change gearbox oil

my clio has travelled 12,000km around 7500 miles.

When do I need to change the gearbox oil?

Been told most new cars have there gearbox oil for life. Theres no harm in changing it tho if you wanted improved shift quality. But as it is i think yuo dont actually have to change gearbox oil at all .

well, since this gearbox oil doesnt get combustion hazard like th engine oil, it doesnt get dirty...

now, some ppl say that is ok to have it for life.

I change it every 30 to 40 000km. Its not expensive and keeps the gearbox always on top lub.

Renault gearboxes are indeed filled for life. It doesnt stop you changing it if you feel the need.
