When was my car born

is it possible to tell from the sticker inside the drivers door with the details such as paint code when my little clio was born? its so i know when her first birthday is!

If you take off any of the plastic trim panels, or pull out the ashtray, youll find a moulded pattern which usually has an indication as to when that part was made, which is pretty much when the car was put together.

Failling that, you could always check the log book to see when it was first registered.

Alymac, If you look under the steering wheel there will be a label wrapped around a bunch of wires this has the date that the computers were programmed so should give you a rough idea of when the car was in the build process.

P.s when is say under the steering wheel, I mean up under the dash in the footwell. Hope that makes better sense.

When was it born then??? I got by dynamique delivered three weeks after. Back when the model first came out.

My Iceberg 172 was 21st June 2001 which is the day the model was launched in the uk so must have been one of the very first!!!!

Wasnt there somewhere on the net you could check when your car was born?

Pity we dont have a site like the BMW Owners club in SA. You type in your VIN number and it tells you EVERYTHING about your car from its service history, to what options were ordered with the car.
