where is a 1*2 gearbox number

ive got 2 172 gearboxes in my workshop one is from my own ph1 and another from a early ph2 jus wondering were the JC5*** number is and a pic would be ideal please

As long as you check for speedo drive or not, you'll be hard pushed to notice the difference. Even when fitted.

hi mate im selling the 2 of them but been asked for a jc5 129 so just want to make sure which is which if thats poss

JC5 129 is the Ph2 box.

JC5 089 is Ph1 172.

JC5 130 is 182.

From memory.

Like i said, as long as it's got a speedo drive, it'll work fine. I fitted a JC5 129 to my Ph1 and the ratios were almost identical.
