Where On Earth Can I Find My Gearbox Code!?

Just been down the scrappy looking at gearboxes for my car and ive been told i need my gearbox code.
So went down to the garage where my car is and we searched all over but could not find the code anywhere!

Does anyone know what gearbox would be in my car or where i can find it?

Its a 1149cc, 2001 Clio Dynamique. (MK2 PH2).
I think it should start with JB.

Or maybe someone can find it if i give them the registration of my car?

I had a look at that thread.
But there is about 15 different codes for my engine...
And we couldnt find it on the gearbox, looked all over. As i said in my first post Mushroomz :rasp:

These are all the possible codes for my gearbox...

BB27 JB1-513 1.2 16V 7701723253 CLIO II
BB05 CB05 JB1-997 1.2 16V 7701715011 CLIO II
BB0W CB0W JB1-004 1.2 16V 7701714638 CLIO II
BB0W CB0W JH1-004 1.2 16V 7701714638 CLIO II
Just not sure which one will fit mine.

Think mine might be the same as yours although it 05 plate could i find it on my car somewhere? for you?

go into a renault dealer and ask if they can help. All they have to do is bring up icm on the computer with your reg and i am pretty sure it will come straight up. Im sure a friendly service receptionist will do it for you or even maybe if you ring up

Rapid! You were right. For once, Renault were actually helpful.
After being put through 3 different departments i was able to get my gearbox code.

FYI the gearbox code is etched on the underside of the gearbox, on the flat section next to the selector pin.
