OE Renault One. - 7700107433 - RRP £96+Vat

OE Bosch - 0258006046

Euro Car Part Number - 710 74 5575 ( No Longer Available )

Not alot of people know but once you have fitted new injectors or lambda sensor you need to go into CLIP and recalibrate the ECU so you dont get overfilling and to make sure that the light actually goes off and it passes emissions.
I think its in the erasing part of the petrol injection, Programme Reinitiliastion

I had fitted brand new OE renault parts and it failed emissions almost every year at MOT until I got this done and now it flys through.

I've never heard that before. I had both lambda's replaced early last year and it struggled through the mot in March and shortly after the eml came back on and has remained on. Looks like I'll have to look into that before march.

@0ss I was shocked also but it was my Renault Specialist that told me this ( Family business & all renault trained )
I struggled to get through MOTs and I was throwing money at Lambda sensors, Spark plugs, Injectors, HT Leads, Coolant Temp Sensors and all sorts and it turned out it was one lambda that needed changed and then the ECU reset through petrol injection section on a renault CAN CLIP.

They done it once and then put it on the MOT smoke tester and it passed with flying colours and it was not even driven to get it warmed up.

There's a couple of independent Renault specialists I know have clip not too far from me so I'll have a word before mot time next month. Could save me buying a new cat or lambda. Or a new car 😂😂.

Load of b****cks. I've had CO in the 4% region (limit is 0.3%). Fitted a new lambda and it passed the next day at 0.05%.

Understand it may take a few cycles to tweak the fueling but not years 😂

Never heard that before tbh
I've owned 1*2s for nearly 20 years , first time I've ever heard of it .
If it was the case. Wouldn't disconnecting / reconnecting the battery cause the ecu to relearn the readings from the new sensor??

Clearly every car is different and people have different views but the settings are there On Clip to do it and it’s advised you reinitialised the fuel injection via can clip.

when it’s coming from ex Renault RTEs with many years experience and they are telling me that it’s the correct thing to do after fitting a fuelling part Then I’m going to listen and take there advice.

Each to there own I guess but it’s not b****cks if the setting are there for it to be done in Clip

It is that without it you wouldn’t be able to pass an MOT. As I doubt 95% of Clio 172 / 182 are on their original injection / fuel system let alone been on clip to reset it.

Or somebody who's seen you coming and wants to earn an extra £40 quid out of an injector/lambda change lol

Anyone got clip and want to have a dig about and see what settings there are relating to this? Seems to have turned into a bit of a witch hunt in this thread!

That would be a good idea.
I'm not doubting what MarcB has said , there might well be some setting in clip for when you change a lambda sensor. But is it necessary to do it ? Who knows?

Any info people share on CS is always useful and people shouldn't be so quick to put down the person who shares that info. That's why CS has been such a good forum over the years because people are always willing to share their knowledge.

I’ll try and find some time to have a look. But CLIP won’t explain exactly what it does but just give you the option.

EDIT: to answer though it can’t be necessary otherwise we would all be screwed by now.

It may not be required in every instance an injector or lambda is changed, but for the rare time when a replacement part doesn't fix an issue if this is avaible to reset the fueling then it may be of help to some.
I've had new injectors, new catalyst and new lambda's fitted over the last couple of years and it scraped through the mot last year and had the eml on since. Anything I can try before buying new parts again is worth it imo.

I dont have access to a 172 to put clip on at the moment, but i would bet the tech meant resetting the adaptive richness correction to reanlign it to around 128, and throttle position setting reset. In my experience, this makes quite a difference to the overall drive, as you need to do a road test running different throttle position/rpm for 6 or so miles at different load points/map sensor values.

If you have replaced throttle body, injectors etc it is worth doing. Even noticed a difference when doing it after fitting v6 airbox, as throttle seemed to be less responsive.

Not saying you cant get away with just plugging in the parts and it will be alright in most circumstances, but always best to do it, if you have access to the right gear.

Batt disconnect does not clear the adaptive settings. I had issues when replacing ecu and uch from another 172, throttle response was s**t, so had to reset it for good running.

As im not a tech and it was a long time ago I may have got it slightly wrong but none the less there is a setting there for it to be done, Thank you for cleaning the which hunt up.

Quick screengrab of a bit of the workshop manual. I too had people saying its not worth doing etc, but my 172 engine Kangoo idled a lot smoother than most, and mpg on cruise was always absolutely great.

Fitted new lambda today but as my laptops battery is shot I cant take it to do the test on clip, will try to borrow another laptop though. Will say that theres an improvment anyway and conicide with getting rid of the pas and ac pump the cars feeling quite lively!

An update.. The car stinks of fuel when I put my foot down and It says Im getting 1.4 mpg. I now have access to another laptop, is there anything else I should do? I clicked the throttle position setting which changed some figures and activated the TB open and close for a while. The cars been really sluggish lately..
