WHERE TO GET A GOOD LAPTOP ? ?

I am in process of looking for a new computer, laptop preferably.

I'm going to be using it for the net, my i-pod, digital camera, few games, video and music downloads etc etc.

What do people on here suggest ?

Without spending silly money.

I've seen a laptop with a 120gb hd,1024mb ram, widescreen, card reader, wireless, bluetooth,vista premium etc etc for £620.

What you guys think ?

And what operating system is worth going for ?

Vista Basic ?
Vista Premium ?
Vista Business ? or
Vista Ultimate ?

I've had a look at dell as well but all this gigabyte etc etc is going over my head

IMHO Compaq and Toshiba make good laptops with Sony up there in third.

Just buy from a decent reseller or direct and look for a genuine Intel processor and decent battery life.

vista home premium 32-bit or above is worth getting if you go for a windows based system. the lower spec ones are crap and not even as good as the xp.

i bought a sony vaio a couple of months ago, i'm very pleased with it.

Intel dual core
2gb ram
256mb geforce 7800
17" screen

i paid £1100 but it's tax-deductable
