Where to get big end bearings?

I'm going to put some ARP bolts on the ends of the con rods so thought I'd replace the bearings while I'm at it.

Any suggestions on where to get them and which ones to get? Are there uprated ones available?

Renault wanted £27, I assume for the set but with Renault you never know that could be for just one bearing.

Better than having problems with a small end ;) lol!

But no, seriously, do they do uprated bearings anywhere or are standard ones enough?

Cheers jay s for the info.

Anyone know if it is worth changing to upgraded ones over standard.

I've just got cams and aiming for a 7800rpm limit.

Danny has a super charger.

So 2 different cases to consider.

And I trawled for ben_p's engine spec and he had:

They are about £45-50 for big-ends, i'll confirm this when im back in work on tuesday. STandards are about £30.

They are copper/lead/steel as opposed to ally/steel. They resist higher loadings due to the copper/lead element. They are fine for higher rpm and/or higher output from pressure charging.
I guess the only real "downside" is longevity, since they lack the aluminium which holds a good "absorbtion" characteristic, they have a higher wear rate and can pass damage onto the journal if debris is present.
All this is very slight though, copper/lead still lasts.
