Where to get engine speed signal from for shift light

Fitting a shift light to my PH1 172 and i need to sap into a wire for the tacho or a wire which caries an engine speed signal. has anyone done this and know wheres best to tap into?

You need to take it from either the ecu or the coil pack wiring. There's 3 wires at the coil pack, but you don't want the thickest wire of the 3. The other 2 are the ones to tap into - you just need to decide which one to cut and join up with.

I can try and find out the ecu PIN numbers if you want to go direct from there.

Assuming that the wiring is the same for this between a ph1 & the ph2, it's either pin 1 or pin 32. :up:
