Where to put bonnet pins on mk1

after struggling for ages trying to mount my carbon bonnet properly, the only way i can see to do it is to use pins at the windscreen end off the bonnet, where could i mount them? i cant see anywhere? other people must have done it before...

i see you hve 2 clios! a nice 1.2 in the back there ;) i ahve no idea of the pins tho.....

that f16 looks so nice....i still think thire the nicest clio engine for looks...

im sure winstons one just fitted, the black clio is gone now, had a full valver front onit e.t.c do a search theres a load of pics.

the bonnet doesnt sit straight as said in the origanol post and the only way i can see to mount it properly is using pins, as said in the origanol post.
one side of the bonnet sits lower than the other if i used pins i could adjust the hieght from each side so it will sit right.

yer, i was thinking there but are the pins going to be long enough ?
i think i still might have to go for the escortrs raised look due to the way the bonnet touchs the scuttle pannel.

Fabricate a bracket and fix it to the suspension turret.

Actually the mk1 bonnet doens't flip open even under heavy braking, only opens abit when a lorry goes the other way quickley

^^^ well my mk1 bonnet does....if im going down one of our devon hills, and brake hard down the bottem, then it flips right up, then right down again. and if your wondering why it was like this....the metal loop for the catch broke. id like to know what super heavy bonnet you've got lol.

Same as you, i'm just not going down a steep hill lol

that sounds like a good idea, i think they may fit on the suspension turret though, who has the bannan? thats got pins

through the plastic bit of the wing? could you put like a red arrow on the picture i posted of where you put them through please, this would be a great help.
i also notice the tape on the edge's i guess this is where it fouls the scuttle panel? i have this as well, going to use slear plastic stuff i think.

Nah the edge is plastic but a bit wider it's metal...should go through there no probs.....it still did'nt fit well though lol

sorry to hassle you mate but do you have an under bonnet picture so i can see exactly where they went in?
the problem with my bonnet is that the right side sits higher and fouls the scuttle pannel.

Adjust the bonnet on the hinges then, if necessary pack one out

don't have any pics sorry try pm'ing gaz he might be able to help you...but tbh it's pretty straightforward

its already packed out, sticks out about 1cm from the headlights. think i will just raise it at that end on the pins so it sits free.
could you use one of the existing wing bolt holes to mount the pins? would be to close to the edge?
