Where to take my car to make sure everything is running in good order

I want to take the car somewhere to be tuned, re-tuned, checked, Whatever I need to do really to make sure the car is runningat optimum performance before I start putting some cash into it? Where can I go, or what can I do to mke sure the car is running at its top performance!
I really want to know If the car is running at the power it should be. If not I want it at the power it should be

Well tunning and remapping etc will be done as part of the tunning.

However a good service isn't a bad starting point new fluids etc maybe the cambelt if you need it doing. If your doing the cambelt might be worth looking at cams and head work.

So many things like pistons rings not making a great seal etc an affect power so you need to start by doing checks on the engine to see what its like before hand and get compression and leakdown test realy see how good your engine is but realy its pointless unless you know theres aproblem as fixes cost a fortune often anyway.


You need to give us a minute though to reply.

Surely you can take it somewhere and get it RR'd to see what bhp its kicking out. See if its under performing.

About 140hp at the wheels.

169 hp or so at the fly.

The 172 refered to french HP whoch when converted becomes 169hp.

So I think a trip to a rolling road will be a good start. I don't want to mod the car in anyway to be honest I just want to get the car running at the 169BHP it should be, Thats if it isn't already. So no cams, headwork, remap yet I just want to get the engine running at its standard maximum. Then work can begin.
