Where would you buy from?

If you were buying a used car where would you buy from? For example, Pistonheads, Ebay, Autotrader etc.

There seem to be many 182's on Ebay, but I've always felt it has a mouth breather reputation of the sellers.

If looking for a 182, then here is the best place.

Usually look on eBay, Auto Trader, forums, Facebook, Gumtree. eBay is ok. You get good and bad sellers. Facebook and gumtree is where most of the lunatics seem to hang out now.

Don't bother with piston heads, as it's tiny and most stuff is over priced.

I check them all.

Generally owners forums will be the best as it won't be a total mong that's owned it.

I don't judge anyone until I've seen the advert

It doesn't matter what your looking for, the amount of adverts that don't have basic information and use some form of potato photos are just ridiculous. [emoji85]

I often end up thinking I should try selling cars as a sideline!

I use them all.

Some amazing stuff on forums with some great restoration threads. But equally there are some diy amateurs thtat like to just have a fiddle.

I enjoy watching just being Hayden, but the other day he realised his knocking was suspension he had nof tightened From one of his mods.

I also use them all. eBay chucks up the majority, FB gives comedy, auto trader for you guessed it.. traders, PH for enthusiasts and specialist dealers and then forums for enthusiast owned cars.

or so I hope..

From previous searches Ebay and FB contain both utter heaps and a few gems. The ratio of heaps to gems I've found to be better on ebay than FB.
Gumtree contains mostly scrap. Not to say there are no good cars on gumtree, but there is more dross to get through. Pistonheads is occasionally good if you're looking for something specialist, but there just isn't enough on there.
Personally, for something like a 182 I'd use the owner forums. You've got a much better chance of seeing how the owner has treated the car.
