Which 2tb hard drive?

I'm a bit out of the computer knowledge ring at the moment, I need a 2TB hard drive for my media storage, my OS drive is a 500GB IDE drive and current media drive is 1TB sata, so the plan is to transfer the 1tb to the 2tb and use the 1tb sata as my newer OS drive which should be faster i guess.

Anyway, the advice i want is which drive brand is the most reliable, western digital and Samsung spin-point where the drives I remembered I read could be trusted?

Can anyone link me the best value/reliability and specced 2tb hard drive around ?

Both are decent drives, decent speed and plenty of cache too. Not a bad price either considering HDDs have gone up stupid money recently.

Cheers everyone, I think ill go for the WD 2TB model that has EAR in the model number,

Any idea on roughly how long it will take for the price of hard drives to start dropping again?
