Which Alpine or Pioneer HU?

  Citroen DS3 DSport
I'm planning on buying a replacement HU for my 172 and am looking for advice on what is a good choice around the £200 price range, stretching to £250 if needed.

I'd ideally like something that provides an aux input for my I-River mp3 player.

I had considered the Pioneer Bluetooth HU for connecting my phone with but I don't think that's really needed :D

Thanks

Alpine will give better SQ but you might get more features from a Pioneer

Depends what you really want tbh

It's a shame you're running an I River, else I'd have recommended the Alpine CDE-9850Ri which has a full functioning, high speed iPod interface...

i was gonna buy the pioneer with bluetooth but then i realised no-one calls me so no point lol

plus if its important they can always leave a message....

in the end i went for a cheaper pioneer (P7700mp) which does the job nicely

I'd go for Alpine, I love um. You can get aux input for ai-net. If you want bluetooth there are loads of kits available these days.

I can get the Alpine 9848 for £109 (rrp £149.99) which has aux inputs available for my mp3 player. Is this likely to be a good quality unit in comparison to the 172s standard HU?

If so I'll buy that and use the leftover cash for my other venture :)

Alpine 9847. Has a brilliant SNR, as good as many expensive units; MP3 and Ipod compatible; 3 x RCA outs; do you really need much else? Well under £200.
