which clio for new driver

Hello

Which clio is best to get for 1000, as i would like a clio as my car but it has to be good on MPG as it needs to be cheap to run also good on long motorway runs. I have been looking at the 1.9 diesel but the mk1 ph3 1.2 has good MPG aswell.

Would the 1.4 be better on the Motorway than the 1.2 because it should be lower revs and use less fuel?

I had a 1.9 diesel, brilliant car. ran it for 3 years from new. The only thing that went wrong was front wheel bearings. have a look at the buyers guide on the homepage.
