Which exhaust?

Hi,

I am looking at replacing my Maxnex exhaust. Reasons for this are:

1) Looks chavvy
2) Sounds loud
3) And, it hasn't been fitted right.

I was considering buying the standard exhaust as I can't find any alternatives. I have a 172 MKII 2002. I don't want a loud noise and this is my reason for thinking of having the standard system put on.

Can anyone tell me how much this will cost me? I've phoned Kwik Fit and they never got back to me. Any ideas how much it costs to have a exhaust fitted as well?

Better still if anyone can point me in the direction of a better, quiet, hidden (stealth) cat back system that is a better alternative to the standard Renault one, I would much appreciate it.

I've read this in a few threads. But my main concern is the noise, are they noisy? I really would like to get as close to standard as possible. The Magnex on mine now is a horrid noise, it is sooooooo loud, plus it is blowing where they have tried to clamp it together.

Can't say i know, but seems the only option unless you go to pro-speed in cardif, apart from standard but we all know they are awful.

if its the current one then it must be fitted by a t**t! put mine on yesterday, no knocks, no blows and fits perfectly!


sounds good not chav at all imo. apparently they change afer a few thousand miles so i reserve judgement. But build quality wise its absolutely first class, so many adjustment parts on it you can get it just where you want it.

whatever you decide to do m8, DON'T buy another standard one they are so so so so so so so SH+T. if you ring pro speed i'd be surprised if they couldn't make you one to suit your preferences more silencer's ect.

Yozzasport everytime - Andrew is a great person to deal with - I bought mine from them and initially I found it a little too loud for my advanced years Lol! They made me a modified box and it sounds sooo sweet now and the performance gain is still there too. I believe this box is now an option.

I don't have a standard one now, I have a twin 3.5'' Magnex that the person I bought it off put on. It looks well chavvy and sounds well loud from within the car - this is why I am so concernced about buying another aftermarket exhaust that is loud.
