Which External Hard-Drive?

  1.6 Focus, 1.6 122S
I moved away from teh world of custom PC's about 2 years ago and got myself a Dell XPS laptop. I needed the ease of moving it about and its served me well. I'm impressed that I can play F.E.A.R, HL2 and NFS:MW at full wack, but couple that with my software for designing and my susic collection and 60gig is gone quick.

Rather than find a larger internal drive I've been thinking external is the way to go. Store all my games, music and videos on it and keep what i need portable, portable,

The question is, what do I go for? I have no experience and am also concerned as to the acess speeds?

  ST on the way...
I went for an internal IDE drive and bought an external caddy.

Worked out cheaper! :)

I have a 320GB USB Toshiba, and a Packard Bell 400GB USB. PCWorld were selling these ta far less than you could build for. The 400GB was £150.

That's pretty cheap, gotta be noisy as hell or something else is crap about it. Surely it can't be that good for that price?
