Which Head Unit??

Hey thinking of changin my head unit and i dunno which one to get either the Alpine iDA-X001 or the Sony MEX-BT5000 i think they both look pretty good and the sony has built in bluetooth which is handy but i also want good sound quality so can anyone help me decide??

Without even checking out the models I would have to say Alpine. My mum has a Sony HU in her car and it sounds nothing on my Alpine.

but why would you have your head that close to it anyway lol :rasp::rasp:

seems that alpine is the obvious choice then unless someone else can convince me that the sony is better

I have the Alpine HU, it's Ipod intergration is second to none but if you want CD you need to add a multichanger.

Couple of niggles the large round "knob" in the middle is great for searching through all your tunes but to enter you don't press the knob, you press an enter button, which I feel is daft, also the screen is on the right hand side and is built for left hand drive cars so although still top quality TFT it's not as good as looking at it from the passenger side.

But still nice HU.

i think im probably gonna go for the alpine as nobody has a bad thing to say about it. just a couple questions -
will it work with the stalk controls at the steering wheel and if so what adapters are needed and
will it also work with the display at the top of the console (even if it does only say alpine or something)

either autoleads or incartec for the stalk adapters,will only say alpine unless you pay 90 quid for it from alpine,the other 2 will say alpine iirc and then you can still use the controls
