which is the faster car

i have a mrk2 phase 1 1.2 16v and my mate has a 1.4 8v we always argue bout this,,which is the faster car they are both the same year btw

Hard one to call. The 1.4 should have more torque.

Not that it matter much on a 1.2 (unless its Freds car) but isnt yours modded?

Lol according to Parkers website, they are both identical! 11.7 0-60 and 75 Bhp.

i would have thought the 1.2 would accelerate quicker being 16v

but the 1.4 is bound to be lighter

60-100 will take both cars years but the 1.4 should edge it, would all come down to driver..

Well I raced Doyle in his 1.2 16v last year at Crail in my 1.4 8v. He was completly standard and I had a piperx IK that kills power with all the hot air it gets! I also have a heavy boot install. But I had wider and better tyres. He won by 0.1 of a second iirc but if both were standard I may have just edged it, not enough in it to matter though!

It had 1 but its completly open and top of the engine! There is a noticable drop in power with it on but I love the noise too much!

A lot of miles, a IK of some sort and a cat back exhuast (removing the cat will help get a few more HP).
