Which one....?

  Artic Blue Clio 182
Could I have your opinions please...

I can't decide whether to go for a FF 172 or a 172 Cup.....Ideally I was going to go with the FF but is it worth sacrificing the luxuries for a good priced 172 Cup??

Is there a big difference in the drive?

Anything else i should be aware of?

Also...I have been told they are quite hard to handle, due to lots of power and lack of control over it! (traction/esp)

What do you think?

(Sorry, this has prob been asked a thousand times already!)

Thanks

  Turbos.
Had a FF and if i did it again i would definetly get the Cup.

Looks better, goes better, handles better. The leather on the FF is cheap and nasty and i would have upgraded the stereo anyway because the Cabasse unit is pants. Air con is nice but not essential, same with xenons. Now i have a VX220 i can easily live without such luxuries!

Cup - leather on FF sucks, open windows for aircon, abs is not required unless you are a pu$$y, xenon headlights are just expensive. There you go! Cup cup cup.

And the wheels are much nicer on the Cup.

Cup, future classic hot hatch. Probably retain it's value better!!

cups are all dirty CAT D's ho ho ho banter.

DEFO go for FF, cups are the povvy 172s. i even read an article from renault thats posted on here somewhere saying it and thats why they wer cheaper. still beasts of a car tho and may be 1mm wider or wateva but nothing in it and u got to have the leather and air con - altho std cups look better than std FF but that doesnt take much sorting.

people who says cups are hard to handle coz they have no traction control or esp must be bad drivers i have neither and cope just fine. oh and to answes the quesion i would say get a cup

Its a simply choice really. If you want air con, leather, xenons etc get the full fat 172 if not get the 172 cup.

If you can afford it I would go for a 182 with cup packs best of both worlds IMO

banter. cant have been if they were already used up for the phase 1s.

  172 Cup
I had a 172 FF it felt fat and soft and hated it so much i wasnt even going to try another clio- but i gave the 172 cup a go and loved it- still do infact.

Depends on what you want in a car, luxuries = FF, drivers car = Cup

For me there's no choice its the Cup all the way, I'm keeping mine till it dies

and also if you have a FF you lose the will to argue ur point on here :(
i have been beaten.
spose i really need to have a rip in a cup to see what all fuss is about.

but my ph1 is not feelin fat or soft thats for sure, best fun car ive had and ive had a few.

Some Cup engine's were bench tested according to an article i read... i've never been able to find it since but Cups always seem to do better on rolling roads...

That may well be to less annicillaries (sp) coming of the engine such as air con etc. I read the same thing as you but it was a long time ago.

Shame they never fitted an LSD to the cups.

I went FF and then fitted the springs and dampers from a CUP.
