thanks mate, looks like a nice car but I think I want something either completed like the car with Brembos, or a cheapish ph1 and do the bits myself.

£4k for this with those mods is a bloody bargain... it's the sale of the f**king century!

Honestly, you will spend at least £1500 on Suspension and Brakes (inc fitting and setting them up etc) easily. That's already got that so you're basically getting the car for £2500!!! (that's how I justify buying this sort of car to my mrs anyway!).

You'll end up spending another £1500 on an Induction setup, Exhaust, New mounts / bushes, Remap...

it was my old car ;)

So, tell the mrs (or yourself!) it's only costing you £1000 for the actual base car!!!!!

I agree completely, its just that I had a budget in mind and now its growing.

If I do it I have to be sure its the right one.

With every car I've had after my first car I've said "I'm going to leave this standard" and it never happens! You join a forum and you see all these mods, next thing you know you've managed to spend £2000!

I'd really reccomend getting one that's been owned by an enthusiast with all the "must do" mods done already. Will save you a lot of cash.

I think the 360 is one of the best looking Ferrari's of modern times, love them!

I was out at the ring late september and there was a Porsche track day going on, there were two GT2 RS's there, now they sounded awesome!!

I had a seriously modded GT2 for 3 years, great car. Only got rid of it as I think normally aspirated cars are much better on track.

The new RS's look amazing and the 997 is a massive step on from the 996.

Lee, welcome to the forum :)

You know I'm biased, but glad you went for the ph1. I hate you a little bit for having 2118's though! ;)

When do you pick it up, i'll pop over to compare.

Thanks mate, I didnt take the 2118's purely because I dont want white wheels. If they were grey or silver....

Pick up in about 10days once Steve has had the service and oem suspension put back on.

Hope your well!

thanks to Chris (recaro182) for popping over and taking me out in his ph1 172 earlier. I have definitely made the right decision.

Loved the balance of the car and it felt really nippy and responsive.

Cant wait to get it!

  Clio 172 cup
172 cup!! fastest clio sports you can get even if if it is only mili-seconds.

only come in blue and silver. already stripped out and lighter than any other clio sport and have cup suspension which is lower and stiffer so best for track days

you would pay £4000_4500 for a low milage FSH looked after 172cup, paying that bit more for a looked after one with low milage and FSH is well worth it, thats what i did

I got a low mileage Phase 1 3 years ago, i now have a 182.

I prefer the Phase 1, throttle cable helps you win at life :)

There is nothing in it between all the 1*2's.

Only Cup owners seem to shout that its the fastest of the bunch

Wow. Details?

Hi Christopher

Bought it over 3 years ago and have only just sold it.

It was originally silver but I had it wrapped, runs 460ish as standard but I had new turbos/wastegates fitted, fueling, mapping, clutch, upgraded hoses, DV's and most importantly a good geo.

It was running a reliable 650... 0-60 in 3.9 with wheelspin and 60-100 in 3.2s

Great car but I realised i prefer NA, especially on track!

yeah we shout it because the facts on paper say that, and its all we have haha.
from all the tests magazinges have done the 172 cup always hits 0-60 fastest even if it is only 0.2 seconds quicker its still quicker lol.

im a renault sport fan in general so im not being biased. i chose a 172cup, iv been in a phase one and a trophy it was just my choice, i just think they look smarter anyway but if you have a low budget then a phase1 is still a good choice :)

197 F1 team next for me i think but gota add the black ktec side skirts splitter and cup spoiler!!! :)

Thanks Danny

You wont make a mistake buying a Renault Sport Clio, the vast majority of paid members have had more than one, they are just so addictive not to mention cheap to run for what they offer in the way of performance.

The equivalent on other marques i.e the Civic Type R's/Golf GTi's etc will be/are the more expensive cars to buy and run.. im on my second, quite fancy a 197 next!
