Which Rivnut gun

  Cayman S, RB 182
Hi,

I'm looking to buy a rivnut gun, just curious what everyone uses?

I'm not looking for the cheapest as i would like something that works well as I've seen a few different designs. I dont mind investing in a good one.

Also, I'm looking to use stainless riv nuts as I use stainless fasteners, any advice on which ones to go for?

Cheers,
Neil

I have the same one but managed to break one of the smaller threaded screws when using it on a plastic bumper.
If using stainless rivnuts then I would invest in something a little more robust.
Some of the kit car builders would use rivnuts quite a bit.
Here's one from carbuildersolutions
www.carbuildersolutions.com/de/rivnut-kit-heavy-duty.
There's also an industrial version on their site too.

I've bought the Sealey one as I can get it tomorrow from amazon. I doubt that I'll ever use m10 anyway and if I did I will just fit them by hand.

Cheers for the help everyone!

I went for a Laser 0979 - cheap and simple. You dont want or need a lot of force fitting these or the mandrel will break, especially for the M3/M4 sizes. The smaller manderels are classed as consumable items anyway, but are as good as pence to replace.

Used mine again at the weekend to hold my brake line splitters to the car.

You don't realise how much you actually use it until you think about it. Awesome bits of kit.
