Which roll cage for my ph1 172?

  Discounted 1*2 parts
I haven't got a clue on roll cages, all I know is I want one and I think i need/want a 6 point cage.

Saw an OMP one for around £500 does this sound reasonable or are there better? Don't really wanna spend any more than £500 if I can help it.

Are cages a DIY fit or is it best to get a professional to do it?

Thanks

Tom

the £500 omp cages are weld in i think , a lot of hassle to do , i have a geronimo cage in mine and it is top notch comes in 5 parts and goes in easy enough , you have got the rear with harness bars , seat bars x2 , and 2 front bars that go over your head , just need to take the seats out to get it in , very thick and sturdy , http://www.geronimocages.co.uk/

cheers nick (hadnt realised you live the road down from me lol)

OMP is nice, but a pain in the ass to fit. its taken me since christmas eve to finish it..... and its still not quite in the car!

you will need to do some welding and fabricating with 3mm plate steel with that OMP.

this is mine at the moment, it doesnt come with the harness bar or 2nd diagonal bar though, these were added my me

cheers Bazzon, i might have to have a word with them, looking at a 6 point cage but not quite as as extreme as yours at the front

  Venturi,GTT van,
How would you know Nicky you didnt have to fit it!!!;) And you need to take very peice of trim out to make it fit, it took a fair while to fit, but i do agree, the quality is very good indeed.
