Which self-tapping screws?

This may be a stupid question, but which length / diameter / thread etc do I need?

I'm fitting my new splitter (Mégane ph2) and I don't want to end up going through something with the screws!

1/2 or 3/4 inch?

Cheers Alex, I've got some 20mm so hopefully they'll be alright! It's cut to size so just got to fit it if I have time tomorrow.

Erm, probably won't have chance to do it til next weekend now. I think I might have to cos I don't have any axle stands. Will have to investigate further next week!
