which Toyo tyres are best???

  a burnt one
Well its time of year where 4 new tyres are needed, its a straight choice between toyo proxes t1-r or the t1-s

Anyone have any info, experience of which is best?

Dont beleive all the hype in the wet. I also have T1-R's [the ones to get] and they are fine - they performed superb on my Sprint day too ;)

I also had a set on my VX220 and went for a run with the Lotus club, we were all pushing it in the pissing down rain last January and the T1-R's kept me on the road fine.

Its very black and white on here - so take comments with a pinch of salt. ;)

I've used the T1R on my WIlliams and Mk2 and I just didn't like them they were both in 15's though I tried a 182 with them on and it was a lot better but I didn't push the car to the edge.

Cheers guy's, will be getting 4 t1-r's fitted on saturday, hope they perform as good as my Yoke's have over the last while.

  Clio 172 Cup, Audi A
ive got t1-s on the fronts (been on 1 month) and t1-r's on the back (been on about 8 months)

I had to replace the fronts recently and got these to see if they were any different.

IMO the t1-s is a lot softer and I really dont think that they will last as long as the t1-r's I had on the front before

Well thats almost 2 weeks ive had the T1-R's on and ive not had a dry day yet so cant comment on the dry handling but the wet is good (i mean as good as the yoko's i had which had done 22k miles!!!!!)

Seriously unimpressed with the wet handling, its not as if the roads are flooded, they're just damp.

Also take a while to warm up, cornering first thing in the morning is a no-no, never had that problem with any other tyre before, i feel like a racing driver sometimes, trying to weave about to get some heat in the tyres, while looking in the rear view to make sure the NYPD arent trailing me thinking im drunk

Given that it's gonna be 6 months before the roads are dry enough to get a good ragging round bends and by which time they will be part worn, im proper cheesed off.

hmmm been on T1R's for the last 10k ,gonna change to Exaltos for next set me thinks as usually everyone rates them better & wanna see if they are what they are cracked up to be .

Been very happy myself with T1R's tho ,don't get me wrong they can be slippy in the wet but aren't all tyres in a clio RS when pushing on .

dunno why you find them slippy i cant believe how well they are in the wet, i had kingstars on previously and even going round a corner quickish they would slide but these toyo's just seem to grip and grip

As i said ,only happens when pushing on ;) which is to be expected naturally .

There's never been a moment i have been dissapointed with em ,just curious i guess about the hype of Exalto's .

Beware guys the T1-Rs will need scrubbing in before you can take it to the limits - about 500 miles should do.
