Which tyres from these

Id go for them in the order:

1) Goodyear Eagle F1

2) Pirelli P6000

3) Yokohama A539

Have you thought about Toyo Proxes T1-S or Falken FK-451?

Ive had the Yokos and now have the F1s. Personal preference I think. And i prefer the F1s.

Also used the P6000 but not on the Willy, my other half has them and he uses his car for track days and the like and he likes them

LOL, thats probably no help to you really is it? Go for the cheapest

Yokos are really soft, grip is good but wear is horrendous.

Toyo Proxes are without a doubt the best for all grip/value/wear. We need to get together and do a group purchase for stuff like tyres, if you buy 50 sets you can get as much as 40% off!!!!!!

I had heard that the Eagles wore quite quickly is this true?

I am buying a set of alloys and dont want the crappy tyres that come with the package so I am paying a subsidised price. The guy said he can do me any of the above. I have to pay an extra:

£55 for the Yokos

£61 for the Eagle F1s

£63 for the Pirellis

That is to upgrade all 4 tyres from Kumho

I want a decent tyre that wont wear too quickly, but is decent in the wet now that winter is coming.

I have the P5000s on my car and they are lasting very well. done 30000km and ive just rotated them...the old fronts (now on the rear) would still be good for another 10000 - 15000km if Id just left them but theyll easily get another 30000 on the back

60000km for a set of tyres considering how i drive is pretty good. Only got 45000 out of my conti sports on my old corsa, and I drove more decently on those (most of the time)

Also the P5000s are brilliant in the wet andin the dry they are superb

A539;s theya re fine......and P6000 are not wuite the top of tehir league performance wise now.....superseeded by many.

Good thign about the A539s is that you can pickup a set of 195/50/15 for 98 quid!!!!!!

A539 is a very cheap tyre, but when it rains the damn thing wont give the grip that a F1 can give... or even a RE720.

Stay at the same grip level or upgrade. Never downgrade, or driving confidence could put you in trouble.

A539 aer superb in teh dry......and quite too, smooth aswell.

but, you really shouldnt be driving like a madman in the rain......thats when almost all accidents happen.

and yes, RE-720s are fab......i use them, soft though, i get about 2000 miles out of my fronts, and they aint cheap.

Yeah Ben I have started on the XROC I am thinking of buying a really cheap second car, stripping it out and tuning it to use as a weekend thrash-about.

Have you thought about Yoko AVSs or might be ACSs cant remember exactly but they seem like a good tyre, would not reccomend A539s no grip at all in the wet.

I even read somewhere that A539 were cut out of production mainly because the bad reviews the tyre got on wet.

I dont drive like a madman... the car isnt that powerfull snail with wheels.

I just MUST have confidence on driving. Dont matter if its dry or wet. The grip must be there for me before I get there.

This kind of atitude helps you build confidence when driving. Knowing very well the car handle and knowing why it handles like that keeps you on the floor without having to much of that confidence.

Dont get A539s then but the other Yokos I mentioned were only a fiver more, they are a completely different tread pattern. And I seem to have more grip on the back now esspecially in the wet.

Definitely F1s every time. They wear pretty well I think and are incredible in the wet compared to other tyres.

Yup, Ben, defo go for the Eagle F1s, sooooooo good in the wet, IMHO better in the wet than my ContiSports were in the dry, and the wear rate is good on em too
